The Walton County Tourism Department will accept applications for the 2024 Artist of the Year Award beginning Wednesday, May 1 through Friday, May 31. Currently in its 22nd year, this award will recognize a local artist who lives and works in Walton County and whose signature style embodies the creativity and beauty for which the area is known.

Artists who meet the qualifications can apply starting on May 1. If you'd prefer to send in/drop off a hard copy at the Visitor Center, please download the rules and application.

Through the annual Artist of the Year program, the Walton County Tourism Department promotes the destination’s thriving art community while placing the spotlight on one talented artist. This artist is recognized with the designation of “Artist of the Year” and is commissioned to create a special piece of artwork for Walton County. These artworks can be found hanging in the South Walton Courthouse Annex, the South Walton Visitor Center, and other public places throughout the county.

The deadline for submissions for the Artist of the Year program will be Friday, May 31 at 5 p.m. CDT.
